Privacy Policy
Reetu Academy, Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") publishes Brand Starter Academy and the related websites, content, communities, programs, apps, and services we own (together, the "Services"). We use "you" and "your" to mean you — the reader — and every other visitor to our Services who is over the age of 13.
This Privacy Policy tells you who we collect personal information from, what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and why, and what we do to protect it. By using our Services or purchasing our products, you agree to the practices described here.
California residents: to learn about your California privacy rights, see the section "Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)" below.
Who We Are
Reetu Academy, Inc. is an online education company that helps people start and grow their own online brands and stores. For residents of the GDPR Jurisdictions (defined below) and under certain US state privacy laws, Reetu Academy, Inc. is the data controller responsible for your personal data. For residents of California, we are a "Business" as that term is used in the CCPA.
Who We Collect Personal Information From
We may collect personal information from: visitors to and users of our Services; our customers and students; our team members and job applicants; and our vendors and business partners.
"Personal information" generally means information that can be used to identify you or that can easily be linked to you — for example, your name, address, phone number, or email address. Where laws like the CCPA or GDPR apply to us, our use of "personal information" also includes the additional categories those laws cover. The same person can fall into more than one of the groups above. Most of this policy is about the information we collect from visitors, users, and customers of our Services.
What We Collect
There are two kinds of information we obtain, store, and use: (i) non-personal information collected automatically from every visitor, such as your device's operating system; and (ii) personal information you voluntarily give us or that is collected automatically.
A. Information You Provide Directly
You may be asked to share information about yourself when you:
- Register for a class, webinar, or event
- Enroll in Brand Starter Academy or make a purchase
- Join a waitlist or submit an application
- Book a call
- Contact us or fill out a form
- Join our community platform
The information we collect in those situations may include:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Billing or mailing address
- Business and professional information
- Social media handles
- Payment details (processed by third-party providers)
- Any other information you choose to provide
We do not sell, rent, or trade the personal information you voluntarily submit. If you would rather we not collect this information, please don't provide it — participation is always your choice. Choosing not to participate may limit some features, but it won't affect your access to information that's publicly available on our Services.
A few common ways you give us information and how we use it:
- Emails and online forms. When you email us or complete a form, we keep your email address and any other personal information in your message to respond to you and handle your request. Depending on what you provide, we may follow up by email, phone, or text, and may send you information about products or services we think you'll find useful.
- Registering for an account. When you create an account, we keep details such as your name and email to set up and manage your account and to communicate with you.
- Registering for classes and events. When you sign up for a webinar, class, or program we host, you provide the kinds of details described above. If an event has a fee, we may also collect payment information. We use this to register you and send you communications about the event.
- Becoming a customer. We use the information our customers provide to deliver the products and services they purchased, manage their accounts, and communicate with them.
- Community features. Anything you post in our community spaces — including your display name — is public and is not protected by this policy.
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our Services, we passively collect basic information through your browser using tracking technologies such as cookies (small text files stored on your device that let us recognize it and remember your preferences). We also allow third-party vendors, such as Google Analytics, to use cookies and similar technologies to understand your browsing activity over time. You can read how Google uses this data at google.com/policies/privacy/partners and opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
The information collected through these technologies may include:
- IP address and the domain you connected from
- Browser type and operating system
- The date, time, and length of your visit
- Pages visited, content viewed, and documents downloaded
- The links you used to arrive at or leave our Services
If you access our Services from a mobile device, your mobile provider may send us device identifiers, and — if you've enabled location services — we may receive geolocation data. To stop us collecting location data, turn off location services in your device settings. We use this information to produce general reports about how our Services are used, to keep them running, and to make them more convenient.
C. Payment Information
We do not store your full credit card or banking details. Payments are handled directly by trusted third-party processors (such as Stripe, PayPal, or similar providers), whose handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies. These processors follow the PCI-DSS standards maintained by the PCI Security Standards Council.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and improve our Services, support our customers, and run our business. We process your data only in line with this policy and applicable law. We rely on a lawful basis for processing, which may include that: we need the information to provide a product or service you requested or to enter a contract; you have consented; we have a legitimate interest (such as fraud prevention, direct marketing, security, analytics, or improving our Services); and/or we are legally required to process it. Specifically, we may use your information to:
- Provide access to Brand Starter Academy and our other Services
- Process transactions, purchases, and subscriptions
- Manage your account and personalize your experience
- Communicate with you and answer customer service requests
- Send service updates, order and subscription notices
- Send marketing and promotional messages
- Improve our website and develop new products and services
- Diagnose technical problems
- Protect the security and integrity of our Services and prevent fraud
- Administer contests, promotions, surveys, and other features
- Target prospective customers (only with your consent where the law requires it)
We may also use your information for other purposes we disclose to you at the time you provide it, or otherwise with your consent.
Marketing Communications
By giving us your contact information, you consent to receive emails, SMS/text messages, and other communications about our Services. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by:
- Clicking "unsubscribe" in any email
- Replying STOP to a text message
- Emailing us at reetu@onlinebrandstarter.com
Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional or service messages (such as account, billing, or order notices). After you opt out, it may take a short time to remove you from our lists, so you may still receive some messages during that period.
SMS & Text Messaging
If you provide your mobile number and agree to be contacted, we may send you text messages about our Services, including registration confirmations, event reminders, customer support, and marketing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. You can also opt out by emailing reetu@onlinebrandstarter.com.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell mobile opt-in data. Mobile numbers are used only to deliver the communications described above. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers may use tracking technologies such as cookies, pixels, tags, and web beacons to recognize you, remember your preferences, measure and optimize our Services, deliver relevant content and advertising, and analyze traffic. Tools we may use include:
- Google Analytics
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel
- TikTok Pixel
- Email marketing software
- CRM systems
- Other similar technologies
We may share limited identifiers, such as a hashed email address, with advertising platforms so they can show you our ads, find similar audiences, or help us measure performance. You can set your browser to warn you about or block cookies, though some features may not work properly if you do. We honor the Digital Advertising Alliance's Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising.
When & With Whom We Share Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third-party data vendors or marketing companies. We may share your information in the following ways:
- Service providers and partners. We share information with vendors we have a contract with — such as payment processors, email and CRM platforms, hosting providers, advertising platforms, and contractors — so they can perform services for us. We share only what each party needs and require them to safeguard your information.
- Affiliates. We may share information within our family of companies, which will use it as described in this policy.
- Legal compliance. We may disclose information to authorities or others when required or permitted by law, including responding to court orders and subpoenas.
- To prevent harm. We may disclose information when we believe someone is harming or interfering with our rights, our Services, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. In a merger, acquisition, sale, or similar transaction, personal information may be among the transferred assets.
Third-Party Sites, Apps & Social Media
We maintain a presence on social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok, and our Services may link to or connect with them or with other third-party sites and apps. We don't control and aren't responsible for the content or privacy practices of those platforms, sites, or apps. Please review their privacy policies directly.
Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary to provide our Services, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements — and in line with applicable law and our internal retention procedures.
How We Protect Your Information
We maintain a security program with technical, organizational, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information consistent with industry standards and applicable law, and we require our vendors to notify us promptly of any suspected compromise. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Withdraw your consent
- Request that we restrict or object to certain processing
- Request portability of your information
To exercise any of these rights, email us at reetu@onlinebrandstarter.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" feature; we do not currently respond to those signals, but where available we will treat a recognized universal opt-out signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), as a request to opt out.
Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
When we collect personal information from California residents, those residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"). In this section, "you" and "your" mean California residents only. We may collect these categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, address, and IP address); customer records (such as name, address, phone number, and payment card number); commercial information (such as products or services purchased); internet and electronic activity; geolocation data; and audio, electronic, or similar information. We do not sell, and have not sold in the past 12 months, personal information.
If you are a California resident, you may request, up to twice a year, that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties we've shared it with. You may also request that we delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email reetu@onlinebrandstarter.com; we may ask you to verify your identity first.
Virginia Residents
If you are a Virginia resident, you may have rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, including the rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information and to opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising. You also have the right to appeal a denial of these rights. To exercise these rights or submit an appeal, contact us at reetu@onlinebrandstarter.com. We may ask you to verify your identity first.
EU & UK Residents (GDPR)
We may collect personal information from individuals located in the GDPR Jurisdictions. For information collected while you were in a GDPR Jurisdiction, "you" and "your" in this section mean those visitors and users. The lawful basis we generally rely on is legitimate interest, as well as consent and contractual necessity where applicable. We do not sell your personal information or use it for automated decision-making. If we transfer your information to a country not recognized as providing adequate protection, we use the safeguards the GDPR permits.
You have rights to transparency, access, correction and deletion, portability, restriction, and objection. To exercise any of them, email reetu@onlinebrandstarter.com. These rights are subject to the conditions and exemptions in Articles 12–23 of the GDPR. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you have the right to complain to your local data protection regulator.
GDPR Jurisdictions means the countries of the European Economic Area (including Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden. The United Kingdom is governed by the UK-GDPR.
International Users
Our Services are accessible worldwide. By using them, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in Canada or other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate, which may have different data protection rules than your own.
Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to, and are not intended to be used by, anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that someone under 18 has provided us personal information, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact us at reetu@onlinebrandstarter.com.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date, and the information we collect is always subject to the policy in effect at that time. The English-language version of this policy controls.
